Volunteer opportunities include:
Direct Client Service Volunteering
Driving – Drive a client to an appointment, run errands, or drop off at a location around Greater Victoria as required.
Requires: A vehicle with minimum $2 million third-party liability insurance
Income Tax Preparation – Complete or assist clients with preparing their tax returns.
Requires: A computer with Windows OS, internet access and a printer
Reassurance Phone Calling – Contact with a client via phone to provide a listening ear and conversation.
Requires: A personal phone
Companionship – Meet with a client weekly for walks and visits.
In-home Assistance – Provide support in the home in a variety of areas including: gardening, minor household repairs, gentle cleaning, and organizing.
Office Helpline – Answer client phone calls and coordinate driving requests.
Requires: General computer literacy and a warm, welcoming phone presence
General Office Support – Assist office coordinator with a variety of tasks including: envelope stamping and stuffing, brochure delivery, and filing.
Event Support – Assist staff in preparation for events and day of activities, as well as host the display table at local events
Project Support – Assist staff with project specific activities.
